Biography

Chief Coppola started his career in 1974 as a part time police officer with the Aldan Police Department. He became a full time officer in January 1977. He is a member of the first graduating class of the Delaware County Police Academy. He was promoted to Sergeant in 1983, and to Chief of Police in 1991. Chief Coppola has an associate degree in Administration of Justice from Delaware County Community College.

He is a graduate of Penn State University’s Police Executive Development (POLEX) School. Chief Coppola is a 1989 graduate of the FBI National Academy. Chief Coppola is a member of the Pennsylvania Chiefs of Police Association, the International association of Chiefs of Police, the Southeast pennsylvania Police Chiefs Association, and member and past president of the Delaware County Police Chiefs Association. He is an instructor at the Delaware County Police Academy.
