Jan. 25-26, 2026 Snow Event Update!
Last Updated: January 24, 2026 - 12:57am
Dear Aldan Residents,
With significant snow and ice expected this weekend, the Borough has several important reminders:
- Parking and travel guidance. — Please park in your driveway when possible. If you must park on the street, park on the even-numbered side to allow plow trucks through. During the storm, please avoid driving unless it is necessary.
- Need a warm place during a power outage?
— If you experience an extended outage and need to warm up:
- First, contact PECO, and then check with nearby neighbors to see if they still have power and can let you get warmed up.
- If you still need a warm location, please email Councilwoman Suzanne Kelley at [email protected] and/or call 610-331-5363. The Borough can open the Community Center at the end of Shisler Ave. as a warming location.
- Sidewalk snow removal reminder. — Sidewalks must be cleared within 24 hours after the storm ends. If you would like someone to clear your snow, please click here to access the snow shovelers list. NOTE: This list is made up of individuals who asked to be included. The Borough has not vetted any person on the list, and all pricing/service arrangements must be handled directly with the snow shoveler.
- Trash pickup schedule change. — Trash will NOT be picked up on Monday, 1/26. Collection will take place on Thursday, 1/29, during regular pickup hours.
- Borough Office hours. — The Borough Office may be closed on Monday, 1/26. For emergencies, dial 911. For general questions, please email [email protected].
Thank you, and please stay safe!
